Priorities

Healthcare Services
Too many families in Legislative District 35 struggle with high healthcare costs and limited access to care. New Jersey hospitals contributed $31.4 billion to the state’s economy in 2024, yet many are still left behind.* I’m fighting to lower drug prices, expand primary care, and improve mental health services—because no one should have to choose between their health and their bills. Investing in community health programs will make quality care more accessible for everyone.

Education
In the 2023–2024 school year, the average budgetary cost per pupil was $20,154, marking a 9.5% increase over the previous year's average cost of $18,401.* In Legislative District 35, it’s crucial that these resources are used effectively to ensure all students, regardless of background or need, have access to a high-quality education. I am committed to securing targeted investments that help reduce disparities, strengthen support across all classrooms, and provide equal opportunities for every student to thrive.

Public Transportation
In 2024, New Jersey’s Department of Transportation allocated $137 million to multimodal transportation investments, including improvements to freight systems, rail infrastructure, and pedestrian and bicycle safety.* In our district, transportation is a key issue, with many residents facing congested roads and limited transit options. I am committed to obtaining funding to improve pedestrian safety, expand bicycle infrastructure, and enhance regional rail connections, ensuring safer streets and better access to essential services for all residents.

Housing Development
The annual household income needed to afford a two-bedroom rental at HUD’s Fair Market Rent is estimated at $69,675—nearly double the current minimum wage*. I am committed to ensuring that housing affordability becomes a top priority for our State Legislature, pushing for smart investments that make homeownership and renting more accessible for working families.

Criminal Justice
From 2019 to 2020, New Jersey’s prison population decreased by over 20% reflecting continued progress in reducing incarceration rates. I am committed to advancing policies that address sentencing practices, expand alternatives to incarceration, and reduce recidivism. By focusing on these areas, we can build a more equitable system that ensures justice for all while promoting safer communities.

Taxes & Job Creation
In our state, residents face high taxes, with New Jersey’s property tax rate averaging 2.42%—the highest in the nation*. This tax burdens families and limits economic growth. I am committed to pushing for tax relief that aids local businesses, incentivizes job creation, and eases the financial strain on residents. Fostering a more business-friendly environment and an improved quality of life for all.

Infrastructure
In 2024, New Jersey’s Department of Transportation allocated $547 million for road asset improvements, focusing on pavement rehabilitation, reconstruction, and resurfacing*. In Legislative District 35, aging roads and bridges present ongoing challenges that impact safety, commute times, and overall quality of life. These infrastructure issues not only create congestion but also pose risks to drivers and pedestrians. I am committed to advocating for funding for these critical upgrades, ensuring that our community benefits from safer, more reliable roads, revitalized transportation systems, and improved infrastructure that supports economic growth.

Environmental Sustainability
Nearly 60% of New Jersey’s rivers and streams fail to meet water quality standards, harming wildlife and public health*. Densely populated areas also suffer from poor air quality, contributing to higher asthma rates. In our district, these environmental challenges are affecting residents. I am committed to prioritizing these issues in the State Legislature by advancing policies that improve water quality, expand green infrastructure, and reduce pollution, creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for all.

Immigration
In our vibrant district, immigrant communities play a crucial role in our local economy and culture*. With a significant number of residents hailing from diverse backgrounds, many face challenges such as language barriers, access to healthcare, and legal status. These challenges can hinder their ability to fully contribute to our communities. I am committed to advocating for policies in the State Legislature that ensure immigrants in our district receive the support they need, from expanding access to essential services to creating pathways for legal status, so they can thrive and strengthen our growing community.
